H.E. Ms. Sophie De Smedt, Permanent Representative of Belgium to the United Nations, and H.E. Mr. Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Nations, in their capacity as Co-Facilitators of the intergovernmental preparatory process for the Second World Summit for Social Development, will convene an informal in-person only hearing with stakeholders on the Food for Thought paper.
The informal hearing will take place on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in Conference Room 2 at United Nations Headquarters, New York.
The purpose of the hearing is to engage stakeholders in informal dialogue and gather perspectives on key issues addressed in the Food for Thought paper, which will inform ongoing discussions in preparation for the Second World Summit for Social Development.
Participation is open to representatives of non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), as well as representatives of other relevant NGOs, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector who are in possession of valid UN accreditation or grounds passes.
This hearing will be in-person only; remote participation will not be available.
